Supernauts developer Grand Cru has claimed its work has not been impacted by its now long-time billing as Finland's 'next big thing', describing it all as “a little bit funny”.
Speaking to PocketGamer.biz during Pocket Gamer Connects in Helsinki last week, Grand Cru CEO and founder Markus Pasula said he had no idea where the idea that those at the firm are Finland's new "poster boys" had come from.
“I don't know where that came from, but it's a little bit funny,” opened Pasula. “I guess all of the funding we raised probably put some of that pressure in there. We're trying not to think about it too much so we don't lose our focus.”
Indeed, according to co-founder and creative director Harry Granholm, talk of Grand Cru being the latest studio to stoke Finland's flames hasn't affected the firm's work.
“Honestly, I don't think you can see it in our daily work in our office,” he said. “People carry on doing what they do. They're professionals.”
On the firm's first release – the aforementioned much anticipatedSupernauts – Pasula wouldn't go any further than to say the game will be “out soon”, though word has it the game's full release is expected imminently.
