Who hasn’t heard of the smartphone game Angry Birds? Game developer Rovio is one of the most powerful game companies thanks to the popularity of Angry Birds and subsequent titles like Bad Piggies. Due to its success on mobile devices, Rovio moved their signature games over to other platforms such as Web browsers and the social media sites.
Most might consider Rovio to be the undisputed king of mobile gaming, but one startup company, Fingersoft says their first game, known as Hill Climb Racing, is actually more popular than Bad Piggies on the Android (News - Alert) platform.
Hill Climb Racing is a physics- based racing game in which racers attempt to get their driver up and around hills from across the world. The game has actually become so popular on the Android platform that they just released a version for iOS. One factor that will keep the game popular and downloaded more often is that Hill Climb Racing is completely free. Bad Piggies doesn’t have a huge price tag (News - Alert), but any price tag at all compared to free is going to lose out if the free product is remotely high quality.
Fingersoft says that Hill Climb Racing and some of their other popular apps has led to the company averaging about 400,000 downloads per day.
